Since the late seventies I have been interested in all things to do with aviation. My teenage years were spent mainly at RAF Coltishall, which was until recently one of the oldest Battle of Britain stations in the UK. Sadly the airfield has now closed and been consigned to the history books but it certainly provided some interesting aircraft during the eighties especially.
My current camera equipment consists of two Canon EOS 400D bodies plus a 17-85IS lens and a 100-400IS lens. Prior to that I had a Canon 350D and an Olympus C4000Z.
My wet film camera was a Pentax MG with a 70-300 Hoya lens.
Please check back as I will be adding to the site on a regular basis.
I hope you enjoy looking at my pictures.
Cheers
Rod
It is such a shame that this event is no longer part of the calendar, however it is understandable as the world has changed so much. I will never forget the sights, sounds and smells of what I regarded as one of the highlights of the aviation year. Enjoy!
TLP as it is known has been at Florennes in Belgium since March 1989. This has provided excellant opportunties for the enthusiast to photograph some air forces aircraft which do not normally frequent Western Europe. Unfortunately the TLP will move to Albacete in Spain during 2009 so bringing to an end, 20 years of TLP in Belgium. Within this collection you will find some of my own memories from TLP. Enjoy!
Over the years several of America's nuclear powered aircraft carriers have docked in Stokes bay near Gosport and the Isle of Wight. Here are some of my pictures.
Officially according to the Guniness Book of World Records RIAT 2003 at Fairford was the "worlds largest military airshow" I will be adding considerably to this section with the old IAT's and also IAS which was held at Bournemouth a couple of times. Of course RIAT was held at Cottesmore in the early noughties as well.
Three words describe this event. SIMPLY THE BEST!!
For more on the history, facts etc check out the official website http://www.airtattoo.com/airshow
I thought I would bring all of the photocalls together in one place. These have been organised since 2006 and have grown in stature steadily since then.
My home base until it was forced to close prematurely. There has been some memorable exchanges and visitors over the years as well as Jags of all colours.
I will be adding more Jaguar pictures as well as others in due course so check back regularly for the latest.
Some fairly recent pictures here but I will add some more older pictures soon.
Unfortunately I took the days of F-111's for granted so don't have that many swinger pictures!
Daniel, my eldest son, is 9 and has just started experimenting with my old Canon EOS 350D and 18-55 mm lens. Here are his shots from a cold day at Mildenhall. All he needs now is a zoom lens and he is ready to take over from his old man!
